Hamilton and Jefferson

"Every buyer therefore stands exactly in the place of the seller..."

Here, Alexander Hamilton was referring to the rights of purchase, security, and the original agreement and interntion. This was made in comparison to the goverment, in which it is the same principle. The original rights can not and must not be disputed because that would display outward acts of injustice which in turn would lead to problems.

"Our rulers can have authority over such natural rights only as we have submitted to them."

This was in reference to our natural rights: our freedom. We can only give our rulers power to take over our natural rights only if we allow them to. This is taken from Thomass Jeffersons "Notes on Virginia." We can only answer to God for our actions and our conscious thought.
