"We held these truths to be evident, that all men are created equal."
Slavery and independence are important underlying points from this point because Abraham Lincoln recognized that freedom is one of the most important things this country was built upon.
All men are created equal and freedom are ideals that seem important to Abraham Lincoln. I very much so agree with him. These ideals are important for a nation to prosper. All men are indeed created equal and everyone should be free. We have the same human build, with the exeption of few who have bodily disfiguration. The only things that separate us is the color of our skin, our cultures, values and traditions. In reading his Message to Congress and the Gettysburg Address, one can see that he valued honesty. I think that is important for the Americans to have.
